Plecostomus (Algae Eaters)

Latin name - Hypostomus plecostomus
The Plecostomus Catfish is a aquarium favorite with many. The main attraction of this fish is its ability to keep the aquarium free of algae. It accomplishes this by sucking at the aquarium glass or decorations with its strong, under-turned mouth. This fish though usually found in tropical setups can live in coldwater with normal goldfish when introduced correctly.


Giant African Land Snails

Latin name - Achatina Fulica
Giant African land snails are an excellent first unusual pet for any adult or child. They reach an average size of 7-8 inches & live for 5-6 years. The snails I currently have are about 3cm shell length & i have some larger ones at about 8cm shell length


Zebra Danios

Latin name - Danio rerio
Zebra Danios grow to no more than 2.5 inches and have slim silvery gold bodies with blue – purple horizontal stripes running from their gill to tail.
These fish can be kept in cold water or tropical & look best when kept in a school.


White Cloud Mountain Minnows

Latin name - Tanichthys albonubes
These little fish reach a size of 4cm & are silver – green in colour with a bright red caudal fin.
These can be kept in cold water or tropical & look best when kept in a school but should not be housed with large goldfish as they can sometimes eat them.


Budgies

Latin name- Melopsittacus undulatus
Budgies are a good beginner’s bird, they can be housed indoors or outdoors. We cater for beginners, hobbyists & breeders, there are always many colours available & special prices when multiple birds are purchased.
These birds are all early 09 bred so will not be suitable for taming but will be perfect for breeding this time round. For babies please look further down.


Baby Amelanistic Corn Snakes 2009 Hatch

Latin name - (Elaphe guttata)
Corn snakes are a good beginners snake; they are relatively small rarely exceeding 5ft in length. They are docile snakes with a nice temperament & can live for about 15-20 years. Amel corns have a coloration of cream & mixed shades of orange.
These Babies were hatched by Little Beasties.


Goldfish

Latin name- Carassius auratus
Goldfish are an ideal first children’s pet, they are easy to care for & cheap to set up.


Fantails

Latin name- Carassius auratus
Same to care for and setup as the common goldfish but these are more attractive fish with nicer coloration.


Neon Tetras

Latin name - Paracheirodon innesi
The Neon Tetra has a dark olive/green back over a silver/white abdomen.
Neons are characterized by an iridescent blue horizontal stripe along each side of the fish from its nose to the base of the adipose fin, and an iridescent red stripe that begins at the middle of the body and extends to the base of the caudal fin.
These fish are best kept in a school & must be kept in warm water.


Glowlight Tetra

Latin name - Hemigrammus erythrozonus
Glowlight tetras are very popular in tropical fish tanks as they are small, hardy & adaptable. These fish have a red horizontal stripe which runs from the eye to the tail.
They should be kept in schools of 4 or more.


Fancy Mice

Latin name- Mus musculus
Fancy mice are really cute little pets that enjoy the company of other mice. I usually only sell the females as the males are abit smelly but males will be sold on request. These little rodents live for about 2 years & grow to about 14cm, They are very active & make great little pets. I currently have tan, white & beige.


Hecks Grass Finches

Latin name – (Poephila acuticauda hecki)
Grassfinches are among the most popular of all finches.
They are an attractive bird with rosy brown upper body, darker brown lower body & wings, the crown & sides of the head are silvery grey, with black around the eyes & a large black bib.
Heck’s are great breeders, & can be mixed in an aviary with other finches, budgies & canaries so will add something new to your aviary.
They also have a nice song, nicer than budgies & other finches.
These birds are this years & have been bred by a local breeder.


Pygmy Leaf Chameleons

Latin name – Rhampholeon kerstenii
Pygmy leaf chameleons grow no bigger than 3 inches in length & live for about 6 years. As the name suggests they impersonate leaves to help keep them safe from predators. These little fellas are so cute & not as difficult to look after or as expensive as some chameleons to set up. They can live together or separate & make a nice addition to any home.


Chile Rose Tarantula

Latin name- Grammostola rosea
These tarantulas are a good beginner tarantula they are easy to handle & much less aggressive than most other species. They grow to an average size of 5 inches & depending on sex can live to around 15 years.
This female is very pink in colour, stunning.


Syrian Hamsters

Latin name- Mesocricetus auratus
Hamsters make a nice first pet as long at they are handled frequently from a young age. Syrian hamsters are the most commonly kept hamster they are larger than the dwarf hamsters so can be easier to handle. They should be housed on their own, as they don’t like living with other hamsters, and they grow to about 18cm in length & live for about 2 years.
I have 1 female left at the moment and she is long haired and brown & white.


Fife Canaries

Latin name- Serinus canaria
Fife canaries are nice birds that are great to have indoors in a cage or outdoors in an aviary, they are social & so usually get on with other birds in a mixed aviary well.
These canaries are 2009 birds hatched by a local breeder.
I currently have yellow variegated, clear, & buff.
Canaries are difficult to sex but i have had the breeder do it for me so we are as close as we can be with them, if you buy one & they turn out to be a different sex to what we thought we will gladly take the healthy bird back & refund your money or swap for another.


Whites Tree Frog

Latin name - Littoria caerulea
For a begginner this is the best species of tree frog to start off with, or if you already keep them this will make a nice addition to any collection.
They are easy to keep & look great!
The whites tree frog grows to 4 inches & can live for over 10 years in captivity. They range in colour from green, blue, turquoise & brown.
This frog is 3" at the moment & is mainly turquoise.


Hatchling Carolina Corn Snakes

Hermanns Tortoises

Latin name - Testudo hermanni
Hermanns tortoises are one of the most commonly kept tortoises in captivity.
All our hermanns tortoises come with the correct paperwork as they now must have a certificate to prove they are captive bred.
They are currently about 2 inches shell length & were hatched in 2008. These tortoises grow between 8-10 inches & can live for 100 years or more! So when thinking of buying a tortoise please take this into consideration.
We provide excellent advice on keeping tortoises so please feel free to contact us as many times as you like before buying one of these lifelong pets!


Saharan Uromastyx

Latin name – Uromastyx geyri
Saharan uros grow between 28 & 35cm in length & can live for around 20 years.
Saharan uros range in colour from red/orange to bright yellow the two I currently have in are mainly yellow.
Uros are an easy lizard to keep, they like a hot desert environment & eat mainly leafy greens & flowers but they do like live food & can be offered it a couple of times a week these 2 love medium sized locusts!
They are nice friendly lizards that I would recommend for children & adults alike.


Zebra Finches

Latin name- Taeniopygia guttata
Zebra Finches are small, quiet & the most commonly kept finch, they can be housed indoors as a pet or outside in an aviary. They are a social bird that can be easily housed with other finches & small birds such as budgies.
I currently have cocks & hens in faun, grey & white.


Diamond Doves

Latin name- Geopelia cuneata
Diamond doves are the smallest dove available, they are grey and white in colouration with white dots on their wings. They can be housed outdoors in a aviary as a nice addition or they can be bred along side other birds. They make a soft cooing noise to each other – a pleasant bird.
I Currently have a trio in the shop.


Bengalese Finches

Latin name - Lonchura striata var. domestica
Bengalese finches are an easy to care for bird that are very sociable with other birds so can be put in an aviary with other finches, budgies & canaries.
I have some nice pied birds in at the moment 2009 hatch.


Guinea Pigs

Latin name- Cavia porcellus
Guinea pigs are sociable animals that like to live in pairs or groups. They live for about 5-7 years & are friendly pets that are good with children. They have a distinctive squeak that they do when they are happy, chatting to each other & waiting to be fed. Guinea pigs really do make great pets!
I currently have 4 smooth coated males.


Baby Chinese Water Dragons

Latin name – Physignathus concinnus
Male water dragons reach an adult length of about 3ft while females reach about 2ft, this is including the tail which is a large proportion of their overall length. Water dragons live for about 10-15 years.
Their coloration is mainly green, ranging from dark to light but they also have turquoise, yellow, orange, pink & brown on their throat, belly & tail. Water dragons are really attractive but they are also very active needing a very large vivarium to accommodate their needs, which should include water pool, lots of things to climb on & plenty of greenery.
These youngsters are nice & tame but are too small to be sexed.

Yearling Snow Corn Snake

Latin name - (Elaphe guttata)

Snow corns have a main colouration of cream, yellow & white they are this colour as they lack the ability to produce black & red pigment.
This yearling is about 14" in length and has some very nice pink markings which you cant see on the picture.

Spiderling Mexican Red Knees

Latin name - Brachypelma smithi
The Mexican red knee is one of the most popular tarantulas kept in the UK, this is mainly due to their gentle nature, colourful appearance & long lifespan.
They grow to 5 – 5.5” & females can live as long as 30 years!
Their colouration of a jet black body & fire red knees makes them one of the most sort after species for beginners & hobbyists.
These spiderlings are currently 1-2cm... Tiny!


Baby Leopard Geckos

Latin name- Eublepharis macularius
Leopard geckos are a good beginners lizard, they grow to around 8 inches in length and can live for 10-15 years. They make great pets if handled at a young age and are a very popular choice with children around the age of 10. When they are babies they are striped with yellow & black but as they get older the black stripes split up & turn into spots hence the name "leopard" gecko!


Baby Budgies

Latin name- Melopsittacus undulates
Budgies are a good beginner’s bird, they can be housed indoors or outdoors. We cater for beginners, hobbyists & breeders, there are always many colours available.
These birds are straight out of the nest so will be very easy to tame.


Pair of Java Sparrows

Latin name - Padda oryzivora
These are a very popular finch that are fairly large at 5.5 inches.
They are mainly a beautiful slate grey in colour with a black head & white cheeks, underneath they are pinkish fading to white. But this pair are faun so they are a much lighter in colour.
The java makes an excellent cage or aviary bird but they are known for bullying smaller more delicate finches, mainly during the breeding season & if kept in an over crowded area.


Star Finches

Latin name - Bathilda ruficauda
Star Finches are attractive, friendly, and peaceable birds named for the twinkling white spots that give them a sparkling appearance. They are a medium-size finch, measuring just under 5 inches, the Star is predominantly light olive-green, with a red face and white spots on the neck, chest, sides, and base of tail. The belly is yellow, the tail rusty, the bill orange, and the legs yellow.
With their striking plumage and joyful song why not add something new to your aviary!


Pair of African Silverbills

Latin name – Lonchura malabarica
Silverbills are a medium sized finch reaching an adult size of 4 inches & living for about 5 years.
They are a sandy brown colour with dark markings on their head, wings & tail. They have silverbills, hence their name.
They are a social finch so can be housed in a cage or aviary with other small birds.
They are good breeders & will nest easily.
This pair are 2009 hatch.


Minature Lop Eared Rabbits

Latin name – Oryctolagus cuniculus
The Mini Lop is the smallest breed of Lop rabbit usually reaching 10 inches from the nose to the hind. They are very laid back rabbits, have excellent temperaments & make wonderful pets & companions. These rabbits love attention & are easy to handle.
I have just the one male otter left.


Chinese Dwarf Hamsters

Latin name- Cricetus griseus
These hamsters have a longer tail than most other hamsters though it’s only small about 2.5cm long. These hamsters are sociable so can be kept in pairs or on their own. They grow between 10-12cm long & live for about 2 years. Cute little guys that are easy to handle.
I have 4 females in at the moment.

Pueblan Milk Snake 2009 Hatch

Latin name - Lampropeltis triangulum
Milk snakes grow to around 5-6ft in length & can live for 15 years or more. Milk snakes must be kept solitary as they are snake eaters so will eat other snakes.
Pueblan milk snakes have bright colours of yellow, black & red which run down the body in bands.
This milk snake is tame & friendly.


Striped Corn Snake 2009 Hatch
